We are taking a stand with @thehalocode to end Hair Discrimination in Schools

The Halo Code are a collective of Black students who aim to diversify dress codes and destigmatise afro hair in schools.

One of our bees recently described the process of dying her hair as the “emotional ties to the strands of hair”. Hair is so important to our girls and so thank you @girlfreethefro for these amazing products.

Afro Hair should not be stigmatised but embraced in all it’s beautiful forms. Black Girls should NOT be discriminated against for how they wear there hair. We stand with @thehalocltv & @thehalocode who are working towards the destigmatisation of Afro hair within schools 🐝👧🏾

CALLING ALL BLACK & MIXED BLACK BRITISH GIRLS AGED 13-18 👧🏾🐝

We are extremely excited to announce the launch of The Black Girl Global Justice Initiative 2020!

A collaboration between @justice4blackgirls girls and @milkhoneybees ! The Black Girl Global Justice Institute engages Black girls virtually in the academic and policy work that centres Black girlhood and demands for global justice on behalf of Black Girls✊🏾❤️

For too long, Black British Girls have been erased and not seen. The Black Girl Global Justice Initiative aims to amplify the voices of Black girls both in the UK and USA, and remind them of their voice, beauty, power and individuality. We will be collaborating to expand JBG’a Black Girlhood curriculum and equipping Black girls with lessons in activism and advocacy, which will include topics such as intersectionality, adultification and Black girl healing👧🏾

“For too long, Black girls 12-17 were not deemed worthy of research. The scholarship wasn’t there. The narrative is changing because Black girls are worthy of inquiry.” - Dr Monique Morris
